The story of my younger brother, Zaphaniah Lao, is one that reflects the reality of many young Papua New Guineans today — educated, ambitious, but born into difficult circumstances with limited resources. Zaphaniah is the third child in our family. We were raised by parents with strong ethics, strong values, and a deep belief in hard work, despite coming from a poor background. We did not have wealth, luxury, or connections. What we had was character, resilience, and the determination to rise above our circumstances. As the eldest brother, I carried the responsibility of helping my younger siblings through school. Gibson Thomas (Gideon Thomas Jr.)- Autobiography  Gibson Thomas - BNet.Engr,DICT ____________________________________________ Gibson Thomas, affectionately known as Gideon Thomas Jr. within his family, is a dedicated IT professional, BodyBuilder, family man, and resilient leader from Enga Province, Papua New Guinea. Born on 14 January 2000 in Toropus village, Yandamani tribe, Lower Lie Constituency, Wapenamanda District, he is the eldest son of Thomas (from the Kana tribe of Lower Lie, Wapenamanda) and his wife from Lakui village near Wabag. His father, an Adventist missionary, has dedicated much of his life to ministry, which shaped the family’s early movements. In 2002, when Gibson was a toddler, the family relocated to Aipinimanda Village in Wabag Rural, Enga Province, following his father’s mission posting.
